How to Use X-Plane Multiplayer

I've recently been trying multiplayer on X-Plane 11, and I have found that it is extremely difficult to set up, and once set up, very fidgety. Today, I'll go through how I set it up in simple steps, and how you can do it too! Also, if you want to show your friend, they can just download the free version of X-Plane 11 and it works just as well!

The way I'll be showing it today is how X-Plane intended it to be, which is having both people on the same WiFi network.

1. Make Sure The Folders Are The Same!

A very important step for multiplayer working is for both players to have the exact same Extra Aircraft and Custom Scenery folders.

Here are the ways to get to those folders (unless you edited the folder):

X-Plane 11/Aircraft/Extra Aircraft
X-Plane 11/Custom Scenery

2. Head to X-Plane

This step is simple: open X-Plane 11!

3. Open The Network Settings

Now, both people should start a new flight at the same airport on different runways (because sometimes the planes go on top of each other!). Head to the menu at the top, and find the Settings symbol. Once you are in settings, click on the Network tab at the top.

4. Add The Multiplayer Machine

You should now find the Multiplayer section on the top right, click it. Now press Add Multiplayer Machine. You should see the other player's computer name, click that!

5. Play!

Now, you should see the other player's aircraft! If not, both of you should quit out of X-Plane, open it again, and the multiplayer settings will still be there.

I hope you have had a lot of fun trying out the multiplayer! If anything doesn't work, comment and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Also, subscribe to my blog to be notified of more awesome content!
